Should Canadians accept CTV, CBC (which is remarkably stupid — have you heard the new Radio 2?) and Global (which has always been stupid) as the gatekeepers for national debates? Oh, I don’t think so.
Given that the Greens rate higher in the polls than the Bloc (which is pretty funny), Canadians ought to hear what they have to say for themselves, whether or not Greens hold a seat in parliament. After all, a seat in parliament is hardly testimony to effective leadership.
And frankly, I am looking for a wider range of options than we currently have. If we don’t get Harper out of office, our country will be unrecognizable. Layton has not performed well (thanks a lot for the last election, it’s done so much for Canada, dumbass) and, well, nobody seems to like Dion.
So bring on the Greens. Greens have been elected to office in many countries more progressive than our own and have done well.
And Greens . . . don’t mess it up.

Hi there,
Elizabeth May is such an insightful person that she would add benefit to any debate. However, it’s possible that there will be less support for the Greens if people get to know their policies. It seems that a lot of people assume that the Greens are a left wing party and they aren’t really. Also, the focus on doing away with progressive taxation is not palatable to many, myself included.
The main thing though is that we need more people talking about the environment. I for one would welcome Green participation in the debate. The combination of having a seat and the poll numbers seem to warrant it.
